We have decided to work on the next major version of XTAC, both client and server.
First of all, the core engine is being rewritten. We expect this will really speed up things with big maps and complex tactics.
The user interface will be entirely redesigned to : (1) be more functional - like Photoshop ; (2) be easier to practice.
Another - smaller - challenge is to provide simple drawing tools.
There will be other important improvements and new features that we will detail later.You have understood, we want to innovate with the new version. Do not
expect to see XTAC 3 until the fourth quarter of 2009, but we promise we will keep you
informed of our progress here.

	XTAC 3 is still a prototype but it gets more and more exciting every day. The memory consumption has dropped to 50% compared to XTAC 2. We have also included some tweaks to drop RAM consumption to less than 4MB when XTAC is not used. The new user interface is partially done (30%) and gives the user a real ease of use. I'd also like to thank be design ! - mainly Bastien - for preparing the next version of this website as it will give Tactical Coders and XTAC a new, real and serious visual identity. 	We expect you're all waiting for news about XTAC 3 so here is a screenshot below of how XTAC 3 Client looks like for the moment (the map comes from Counter Strike Source: de_dust2). Please note that this is only pre-alpha screenshot so the look of the final version will contain many other important things. On the left side you can see the toolbar that will change your life Stay tuned!

	Very cool, cannot wait for this. The current XTAC (v2) is good but is very... Well it has many flaws. I'm glad you guy's are still developing this software. Thank you very much.
